The growing number of labels demonstrates the enthusiasm of consumers for eco-responsible products. However, today we tend to be lost when faced with all the labels that exist.
Too many labels kill the label?

The first certification was created over 100 years ago by the Demeter organization for biodynamic agriculture. Since then, labels have gradually spread to all consumer goods, including cosmetics.
For Fabricann products, some labels can be obtained but not all. What is the reason for this? Here is an overview of the different certifications in the world:

Vegan and Non-tested
In the past, most cosmetics were tested on animals. Today, in the European Union, this is prohibited. The label is no longer allowed, as it is a legal requirement.
On the other hand, in China, it is mandatory to test cosmetics on animals when they are foreign. This raises doubts about the real practices of multinationals operating in Asia and in the rest of the world.
What about our products?
✅ All our natural cosmetics are certified not tested on animals.
❌ Some use beeswax or honey, and therefore cannot be Vegan.

In Europe, several certification bodies are able to award the Natural or Organic label for cosmetics. How does it work?
To obtain the label, you must apply directly to certification bodies such as Cosmecert.
What are the requirements for the Natural and Organic label?
According to the reference system defined by COSMOS, here are the conditions to be met
Emulsions such as creams and lotions contain a high percentage of water, which is not organic. It is therefore practically impossible to obtain the organic label for them.

- From 95% to 100% of ingredients of natural origin e.g. Water / Minerals / Organics, whether raw, physically or chemically transformed
- Synthetic maximum 5% and must be approved by the repository

- From 95% to 100% of ingredients of natural origin e.g. Water / Minerals / Organics, whether raw, ph
- From 95% to 100% organic ingredients on those of natural origin, whether raw, physically processed + 20% of organic ingredients in the total product (10% for rinse-off products)
- Synthetic maximum 5% approved by the standard
At Fabricann, our laboratory is EU-GMP, ISO 22716 certified and certified every year by Ecocert for its eco-responsible practices. However, not all our cosmetics can obtain this label.
